Fix Your Crows Feet

Fix Your Crows Feet

What are crow’s feet aka lateral canthal lines? Why do we get crow’s feet? What can we do to minimize the appearance of them? And are Neuromodulars (Botox, Xeomin, Dysport) the best treatment?

Crow’s feet are are pesky fine lines that form on the outer corners of your eyes. We get them because of a combination of loss of skin elasticity and collagen, as well as skin movement. These lines are a natural part of aging, however some people are self-conscious about them and want to treat them.

Can you prevent crow’s feet? The answer is, yes. Using sunscreen, a wide brim hat, sunglasses and staying in the shade more than sun is a start. Another solution is grape seed oil. It is packed with antioxidants, great for under the eye, decreases dark circles, and can give you glow. In addition skin boosters such as amino acids, minerals, vitamins, and hyaluronic acids can minimize these lines. Skin care such as, retinol and Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA), are very important. Alternating retinol and AHA help thicken the skin, exfoliate and build collagen. (Hint, make sure you wear your sunscreens when using these products).

In the world of aesthetics there are several effective ways to treat and minimize crow’s feet.

Neuromodulars such as Botox, Xeomin and Dysport are most popular and the chosen aesthetic intervention as the results are almost instant. Dermal fillers and collagen builders are equally effective. Protein Rich Fibrin (PRF), an all-natural booster full of albumin, fibrin and mesenchymal stem cells can be injected directly into the crow’s feet to enhance the wound healing and tissue regeneration.

The most effective way to treat the crow’s feet is to build up your own collagen through collagen stimulating products and interventions (mentioned above!). This can be a process and a journey as it can take a few months and sessions, however, is the most effective. At Enrichment Skin Aesthetic Clinic we can help you with this decision.
