Getting laser hair removal is an effective, long-lasting solution for unwanted body hair. Come prepared and maintain your results by following specific pre- and post-care instructions, so you can have a comfortable experience and enjoy the best results possible.
At Enrichment Skin Solutions, we want to make sure you have the knowledge and tools to have a positive experience during your appointment. Below, we provide both pre-care and post-care instructions for you to follow for your laser hair removal near St. Michael.
Pre-Care Instructions
- Shave your legs 24 to 48 hours before your treatment. Do not wax, tweeze, or use any other hair removal methods that would remove the entire hair follicle for at least 4 weeks before your appointment.
- Avoid direct sunlight exposure the week before your appointment. Protect your skin using a mineral-based sunscreen with a minimum 30 SPF. Reapply every 2 hours, especially if you are outdoors, swimming, or sweating.
- Do not drink alcohol, use tobacco products, or consume caffeine for at least 48 hours before getting laser hair removal.
- Refrain from undergoing any exfoliation treatments or using harsh skincare products for about 2 weeks before your appointment.
Post-Care Instructions
- Continue to avoid alcohol, tobacco, and caffeine for another 48 hours after getting laser hair removal.
- You may experience some redness immediately after your laser hair removal session. This will resolve itself within a day or two, and if it does not, please call your provider.
- Continue wearing a minimum 30 SPF sunscreen when going outside for 1 week after your appointment.
- Schedule your next session within 4 to 6 weeks of your last session. Timing your sessions properly is necessary to achieve the best possible results.
- Do not undergo any exfoliation treatments or use harsh skincare products for another 2 weeks.
