When certain light wavelengths interact with your corresponding cells, the light is absorbed by the cells as heat energy. This heat energy causes these cells to break down, leaving them to be reabsorbed by your body. How should I prepare for my treatment?

In the weeks leading up to your treatment, there are a few steps you can take to prepare for your treatment with intense pulsed light therapy in Brooklyn Park. Avoid tanning, including tanning beds and tanning creams, for at least 4 weeks before your session. Avoid retinol and tretinoin creams for 1 week before your appointment. Then we will apply a cooling gel to the treatment area. We will also give you a pair of protective glasses to keep your eyes safe from the pulses of bright light. Your provider will pass the advanced technology device over every segment of your target area. During this time, you may feel a mild snapping sensation. After the treatment you will notice that your dark spots will look darker as they are healing. This is normal. There is no downtime and you are able to resume all activities after the treatment. It is recommended, however, to wear sunscreen and stay out of the sun until your skin heals.
